These Adidas cricket shoes are all teeth and no bite.
We operate a women’s cricket group, so we’re always buying new cricket equipment and donating our gently used gear to new players in our group. However, finding cricket gear isn’t exactly easy in the United States.
So, imagine my delight when I discovered that Adidas is now selling cricket shoes directly through their U.S. website. It’s just one pair – the 2026 Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes (JQ8547) – but still!
Big brand U.S. retailers have never sold their cricket gear here. These shoes are a great sign for stateside cricket.
2026 Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes (JQ8547) Review

Availability
I had already been eyeballing these shoes at Best Cricket Store (which is, indeed, the best 3rd-party cricket gear retailer in the United States).
But now here they were, available directly from the manufacturer with free shipping, coupons, and 30 day returns! Yes, please!
However, when I first checked, my size (US Men’s 10D) was out of stock. A week later, it was back in stock. As of this writing, it’s sold out again, along with most other sizes.
The listing is labeled as “Selling Fast.” Hopefully, the demand means they’ll keep restocking not just these shoes, but more cricket gear.
I know a lot of people are excited that Adidas is finally selling cricket stuff in the U.S. I would like to see the brand’s higher-quality 22 Yards line available here.

I ordered directly from Adidas.com in February 2026. The shoes shipped to me within 5 days for free via FedEx. For $2.99 more, I could have had them in 2 days.

Price
I found a manufacturer 25% off coupon and paid just $67.50+tax for these Adidas cricket shoes. The listed retail price is $90.
The sale price feels truer to what these shoes are worth, which I’ll discuss below. The good news is that Adidas pretty much always has coupons available.
The JQ8547 spikeless cricket shoe seems to be a 2026 new addition to Adidas’ budget-friendly Howzat line. I own a pair of the Adidas Howzat Spikes (2025) and the build quality on those under-$100 spikes was fantastic.
Unfortunately, the 2026 spikeless version feels cheaply made. I don’t know if this issue plagues the entire 2026 product line, but I do know that the Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes aren’t worth $90.

Appearance
Setting aside value, the Adidas JQ8547 cricket shoes look really nice. I mean, just check out the photos.
Howzat look to you?
The design and colorway is really well-done.
They look better than they feel.
The official color scheme is “Cloud White/Aurora Onix/Lucid Tangerine.” It sounds like a Maxfield Parrish painting.
The lace loop proudly declares “HOWZAT,” so everyone can admire that I play cricket. The signature black Adidas three stripes logo complements the grippy-looking tangerine orange outsole. These shoes have teeth.
The metallic silver streak across the heel counter highlights the bright white color scheme. Stitches and ventilation holes delicately pinprick the synthetic upper.
The Adidas Howzat spikeless cricket shoes are fashionable athletic shoes that I would kind of want to wear everywhere.

Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes Size
I am not nearly as pleased with the fit on these shoes. I ordered size US 10D because I already have the 2025 Adidas Howzat spikes in 10D, and those were true to size.
Adidas.com says the 2026 Adidas Howzat spikeless cricket shoes also run “True to Size.” I really believed them. I really did.
And then I tried them on. These shoes are freakin’ enormous. They’re at least one size longer than a standard 10D. Take a look at where my toe is, lost and confused in an ocean of shoe:
BEULAH: They look like boat shoes.
HANNAH: To clarify, not shoes you wear on a boat, but shoes that look like boats.
BEULAH: They’re too big even for the photo box. We have to buy a new photo box.
HANNAH: There you have it. These cricket shoes are so big, we need new equipment. Such a drastic size variation within the Howzat product line is really disappointing from Adidas.
The one saving grace here is that Adidas offers half sizes – something that the Skechers and SOLM8 cricket shoes we also tested, don’t have.

Weight
Unfortunately, I didn’t want to try again with a smaller size because the Howzat spikeless shoes are also really heavy. They felt heavy as soon as I grabbed them out of the box and even heavier on my feet.
To compare, my 2025 Howzat spikes with all the metal spikes in only weigh 659 grams. Their 2026 spikeless successor weighs a whopping 737 grams.

The Adidas Howzat spikeless shoes are quite clunky compared to lesser-known competitors, without providing extra support or durability in return.
Here’s how they stack up against other cricket shoes we’ve weighed:

Spikeless
Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes
737 Grams

Spikeless
Skechers Spikeless Turf Shoes
700 Grams

Spikeless
SOLM8 S1 Rubber Spikes
720 Grams
The main problem seems to be a lack of midsole foam (the product description doesn’t even mention a basic EVA foam). The result is a heavy, rubbery shoe with low energy return.

Comfort and Performance
Due to their giant size, I had to return the Adidas JQ8547 cricket shoes and didn’t get to test them on the field. But my trial run around the house didn’t bode well for on-field performance.
The shoes feel hard and bulky. There’s no bounce. I couldn’t take off fast in them, which is crucial for cricket. The lack of even first-gen superfoam is really apparent here.
This makes the extra grippy lugs feel more cumbersome. The product description says they’re designed for “firm surfaces,” but the outsole is overkill for cricket. I’d sacrifice some rubber for a lighter shoe.
The synthetic leather upper is somehow both stiff and flimsy. I wouldn’t trust these shoes to protect my foot from a cricket ball, especially in the toe area.
In contrast, the heel cup is too stiff and prominent. The tongue is also short and flimsy, so it’s hard to tie the laces tighter (bad news on a big shoe).
There’s only two user reviews online, and those folks complain about the heel cup hurting their ankle bone and the low overall quality. I agree, wholefootedly.
Overall, these cricket shoes feel like I’m clumping around in heavy trail running shoes from a pre-superfoam era.
2026 Adidas Howzat Spikeless Cricket Shoes (JQ8547)
Maybe we were just really annoyed with the size, but the spikeless Howzat shoes were a disappointment. Other cricket shoes feel ready right out of the box and we expected more from Adidas.
Lesson learned: don’t expect 2025 Howzat spike quality in the 2026 spikeless version.
If you can get these shoes on sale for $50 and order at least a half-size down, they might be good for a really muddy weekend social match. They’re also one of the nicest looking cricket shoes currently available.
But overall, we wouldn’t want to spend three hours running around in these cricket shoes.
